Yeah Nolan did a good job of making each of the different "layers" distinct visually, and explaining things throughout the movie slowly. Great writing and directing. Could have been horrible in another person's hands.

Spoiler:
One thing that kind of bugged me in the movie was when the whole zero-gravity thing was going on. Levitt in the hotel had no gravity because the van was falling through the air, effecting him, dreaming inside it. Why didn't this effect the people who were down one layer deeper at the arctic compound?

This is something a lot of people have pointed out.

To be honest, I didn't even think of that while watching it, so it didn't bother me at the time. Maybe a rewatch won't be so kind.

Match Point
Excellent.

Minor criticism: The Setting. I don't think Woody Allen gets Britain at all - specifically the class difference between old and new money. And he seems to think it's still 1928.

Hancock
Meeeeehhhhhhh.

Inception was great. It wasn't nearly as complex as I thought it was going to be. For the most part it explained itself and was fairly straight forward. I think this helps itself, because the subject matter already makes one think, and you can't have the audience too confused. I don't know if I will watch it again in theaters, but I will definitely own it and re watch it several times to pick up on some things I may have missed.

As far as the ending goes...
Spoiler:
It was unnecessary, and almost too predictable. I actually went into the theater thinking to myself, "I'm watching a movie about dreams, so this entire film could possibly be a dream." It's disappointing to have 20 unneeded seconds after everything that happened. It almost takes away from the focus of the rest of the story. Instead of leaving the theater caring about the characters and their story we were just engaged in, we're almost forced to think about the top and if it stopped spinning. (side note: if it didn't, wouldn't it mean we're in Mal's dream?) Like I said, I already figured at the start a dream was a possibility, I personally didn't need them to tell me to. Which upon watching again, I may look for more clues that would point it out as definitely being a dream (i.e. the kids at the end don't appear much older than they do in his memory, even though we're to believe it's been a while since he's seen them).

I too thought Match Point was rather good. It's actually due for a re watch since it's been so long since the one time I saw it.

I didn't like Match Point, but that's because Scarlett Johansson is a hobag and makes me sick. Who... ME??

I'd actually like to watch it again, though I thought she was a fifth wheel there. I liked the other actors a great deal.

I have no idea about the class system in Britain so I didn't notice anything off about it.

I have to see Inception again. I loved it.

Yeah Scarlett is sexy when she's not trying to act, which is probably why Allen uses her as his latest muse. But when you put her on camera and ask her to be sexy, she is so freaking boring.

Death Sentence was just terrible. One of the worst films I've seen this year.

James Wan is just, really, not very good.

I remember watching this while on the computer so I didn't think it was that awful. Laughing I guess I was wrong.

I saw The Wolfman remake yesterday. I'm on the "meh" side of the fence on this movie. No, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (every glimpse of a trailer or leaked photo made me think this was going to be awful), but it doesn't have much to offer either.

I hate thinking movies are just okay, but that's the strongest word I could come up with---it's okay.

There was nothing in this movie that engaged me, and nothing that drew me in or touched me at all. One of the things that made the original such a favorite was the tragedy of the entire situation, and the heartbreaking resolution. This film had none of that. It was like looking at a painting you don't particularly for, even though it's obviously crafted by a capable painter.

Also, as mean as it sounds Del Toro looked like he should have been in a remake of The Hunchback of Notre Dame instead. His hair and face came straight out of Quasimodo.

Never even heard of the second one, but is the first the William Hurt movie? I almost rented that once.
